Dubai traffic: Accidents on Sheikh Zayed Road

Updates:  At 9.20am, Traffic DXB reported slow moving traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road. “Traffic still crawling on #SZR due to earlier reported accident near Ibn Batuta Mall towards #AbuDhabi.”

At 9.19am, a commuter informed, “Accident on D61 Hessa St near Saudi German Hospital towards #SZR. Please drive carefully.”

At 9.15am, another resident tweeted, “SZR to Abu Dhabi is backed up from Jabel Ali to Barsha.”

“Massive delays on Al Ain road due to a truck losing a massive boulder onto the road at Meydan exit,” tweeted a commuter at 8.30am.

Three accidents on E66 have stalled morning commute for UAE office-goers.
 
Congestions were also reported on Sheikh Zayed Road. “Accident at #SZR infront of IBN Batuta Mall,  standstill traffic towards AUH till Media City. Avoid this road,” a commuter tweeted at 8.20am.
 
Another was reported on Sheikh Zayed Road near JAFZA, towards Abu Dhabi.
 
An eyewitness reported a two-car collision towards the Silicon Oasis exit on Al Ain Road.
“It involved a land cruiser and van. Traffic had backed up to as far as Outlet Mall,” he added.
 
He spotted another three-car accident just after the exit, and a five-car collision on the Nad Al Sheba exit. “Though the cops are on the scene, and the vehicles removed, traffic is still slow moving,” he said.
 
The Twitter handle of Traffic Dubai also reported the same accidents. “Accident on E66 #Dubai #AlAin Rd near Academic City exit towards #Dubai. Please drive carefully,” read the tweet posted at 8.10am.
 
“Another accident on E66 #Dubai #AlAin Rd near Nad Al Sheba causing congestion & slow down. Please drive carefully,” read the next tweet.
