Simon Zebo’s future remains up in the air and another French club have been linked with a move for the Irish winger.

Zebo, who helped Munster to a bonus-point win over Treviso in their Champions Cup opener with a second half try at the weekend, is being linked with a reunion with former Munster coach Simon Mannix at Pau.

Toulouse were believed to be at the forefront to prize the fleet-footed back away from his native province, but according to French reports, Mannix has joined the race for Zebo’s signature.

With James Coughlan, Sean Dougall and Paddy Butler already in the south west of France, Mannix has recruited from his former employers and Zebo’s signature would be a huge coup for the club.

Munster have insisted that they want to keep their best players.

"It wouldn't surprise me if there is interest in Simon from around the place, but how hard that interest is or how interested he is I don't know," assistant coach Brian Walsh said recently.

"The dynamic has changed over the last number of years and it's now a constant round of players and contracts.

"We're very keen all those players will stay here.

"We're trying to build really what is a new squad to compete for trophies over the next few years."
