The Meritage Homes community opened Nov. 7 with 80 home sites and eight plans, 2,099 to 4,762 square feet, with options such as one- and two-garage man caves to enjoy cars, sports and other joys of guyness.

The community is at 4152 N. 182nd Lane, minutes from State Route 303 and Interstate 10. Another new phase by the Scottsdale-based builder, Mollina at Sedella, comprises 58 home sites with many of the same model plans.

Plus plans

In addition to man caves, Cadiz at Sedella has introduced the company’s “Plus” plans with outdoor living spaces, zero-transition floors and expansive multi-slide doors which allow homeowners to comfortably transition to the outdoors for everyday lifestyle and entertaining.

Three elevations are available for the eight plans: Spanish Colonial, Ranch Territorial and Desert Prairie.

“We serve all demographics from young couples just starting out, to growing families, to empty nesters and retirees,” Ben L. Campbell, regional marketing manager for the company, said. “We have a home for everyone.”

Energy, money savings

Patios at Cadiz at Sedella are ideal for an outdoors lifestyle.

The new Cadiz at Sedella homes offer a variety of energy- and money-saving features including a structural 2-by-6-inch high-performance wall system and spray-foam insulation. Low-E2 vinyl windows and a SEER 14 HVAC system with fresh-air intake and MERV 8 air filters are also standard.

MERV is Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value. The higher the MERV, the more efficient a filter is in trapping airborne particles. An optional solar energy system can also be purchased for the homes.

EPA has selected Meritage Homes as an Energy Star Partner of the Year for Sustained Excellence –– the highest award it gives out –– for the past three years.

Energy Star appliances and programmable thermostats are also included as are Energy Star CFL/LED lighting and fixtures. For water savings, dual-flush toilets are standard as well as water-efficient fixtures for sinks and weather-sensing irrigation. And, low-VOC carpets, paints and finishes are used as well.

Amenities

Cadiz at Sedella also provides community amenities, including barbecue grills, a park, picnic tables, playground, ramadas, trails and volleyball.

“Every home we build helps showcase the commitment of Meritage Homes to providing energy-efficient homes that let you spend your money on better things than utility bills,” Campbell says.

“After all, we believe in building new homes and communities the way they can, and should be, built.”
