Rajdhani Exp to Goa via Vasai, Panvel flagged off

Railway minister Suresh Prabhu flagged off the Goa-Hazrat Nizamuddin (Delhi) Rajdhani on Sunday. Mumbai residents can board the bi-weekly train train from Vasai Road station or Panvel station .

MUMBAI/ MARGAO: Railway minister Suresh Prabhu flagged off the Goa-Hazrat Nizamuddin (Delhi) Rajdhani on Sunday. Mumbai residents can board the bi-weekly train train from Vasai Road station or Panvel station .
A senior Konkan Railway official said this train has been a longstanding demand from commuters.
The train (number 22413) will leave Madgaon on Sundays and Mondays at 10.05 am and will reach Hazrat Nizamuddin station (Delhi) at 12.40 pm the next day.The travel time between Panvel and Goa will be about eight hours, said an official.
The train from Madgaon will reach Panvel at 6.05 pm and Vasai Road at 7.35 pm from where it will proceed for Delhi.
In the return direction, the train (number 22414) will leave Hazrat Nizamuddin station on Fridays and Saturdays at 10.55 am and reach Madgaon at 12.50 pm the next day.
The train will halt at Thivim, Kudal, Ratnagiri, Panvel, Vasai Road, Surat, Vadodara and Kota.
On Sunday, Prabhu said: “Most of the projects proposed in the last budget have been implemented by the railways. We have initiated work of doubling the track along Konkan Railway and will start electrification work soon.” The doubling of tracks will help augment services and improve train punctuality.
