Hyderabad: A man killed his 45-day-old daughter because he did not want a girl child, police said. Rajender Naik and Sunitha, who were married nearly seven years ago, have a five-year-old daughter and a three-year-old son who is speech and mentally challenged.
Naik, of Marangoni Kunta tanda in Tekmal, Medak district, works as an autorickshaw driver. On Saturday night, Naik came home drunk, but Sunitha ignored him. The baby, Pavitra, was sleeping inside. “He went in, throttled the baby and fled. When Sunitha went to check on Pavitra, she found blood coming from her mouth.” said Jogipeta inspector Nagaiah. Sunitha did not inform anyone of the murder, but told her parents on Sunday. They informed the police. Police is looking for Naik.
