Ninth edition of diabetes walkathon, exhibition

The Malleswaram Diabetes and Nephro Prevention Trust organised a walkathon to create awareness about diabetes and complications related to the disease on Sunday.

Representatives from various hospitals including Manipal, Apollo, Jupitor Hospital, Dr Solanki Eye Hospital and other diagnostic centres from the City attended the ninth edition of the walkathon.

A medical exhibition was organised to showcase effective ways of managing the disease.

Dr Dinesh Kamath, physician, Manipal Hospitals, Malleswaram, said that with the International Diabetes Federation is stressing on the importance of making lifestyle changes, cultivating healthy eating habits, managing obesity and taking measures to prevent co-existing diseases.
