Ras Al Khaimah Police’s Drug Enforcement Administration arrested three people in two cases in October and seized heroin and hashish from them.

RAK Police chief Major General Ali Abdullah Alwan Al Naimi praised the co-operation between various anti-drug departments in the UAE.

Brigadier General Ibrahim Ali, director of Drug Enforcement Administration, said in the first case, police came to know that a 28-year-old UAE citizen, a major drug pusher, possessed some heroin and is looking for buyers.

Police kept the suspect under surveillance and prepared a plan to arrest him. During arrest, the suspect tried to use a firearm he had in his possession.

Police arrested him and drugs, a firearm, a knife and a hand grip made of iron were seized.

In the second case, Brigadier General Ibrahim Ali said two Arab nationals in their twenties were trying to sell hashish.

A police decoy was sent to strike a deal with them to buy the hashish. Both the suspects were arrested during delivery of the narcotic substance.

The three accused have been transferred to the public prosecution in Ras Al Khaimah to complete the legal process against them.
