GHALANAI: A Khasadar and a civilian were killed when an improvised explosive device went off in Safi tehsil of Mohmand Agency on Saturday.

According to officials, the Khasadar identified as Siraj was on a routine patrol in the area when the blast occurred. He was killed on the spot.

A civilian, identified as Zakir, also fell victim to the blast as he was passing the area when the IED went off.

Soon after the incident, the security forces reached the spot and cordoned off the area. They collected evidence from the site and launched a search operation in the surrounding localities to track down the culprits. However, no arrest was made till filing of this report.
