Corps Commander welcomes Molvis, elders on return from 14 day-long tour

Srinagar, Nov 14: Chinar Corps Commander, Lt General Satish Dua today welcomed the Molvis and elders here who returned from fourteen-day long tour on Saturday.
A defence spokesman said the tour was organized by the army for the Molvis and elders of Rafiabad and Qazibad villages of Baramulla district to Ajmer, Jaipur and Delhi. “Lt General Satish Dua flagged in the tour today at Badami Bagh Cantonment. The ceremony included an interaction with the tour members and a talk by the Corps Commander,” he said.
The tour comprised 20 Molvis and elders and it provided an opportunity to them to visit various destinations outside Kashmir. “The tour helped in strengthening the bonds of the community with the diverse culture of our nation and encouraged greater involvement in the service to mankind,” he said.
The spokesman further said: “During the tour, the participants got an opportunity to visit historical and cultural places of interest like Pani Mandir, Shankarachariya Mandir at Srinagar, Bagh-e-Bahu Floriculture Garden, Jama Masjid, Raghunath Mandir and Raghunath Market at Jammu. They visited India Gate, Qutub Minar, Jama Masjid, Rashtrapati Bhawan and DLF Mall in Delhi. Metro Ride at Delhi was a unique experience for the participants. Dargha Sharif, Puskar Lake, Ropangarh Fort, Tanagarh Fort gave them an insight into the rich and diverse history and culture of our country. Mayo College at Ajmer, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Birla Auditorium and Birla Planetarium at Jaipur were also visited.”
Welcoming the tour participants, Lt General Satish Dua complimented them and expressed hope that they will in turn, encourage others including the youth to also undertake such tours and journey to experience the rich heritage of the country.
