Traffic diversions in place for events, juloos

LUCKNOW: Brace up for diversions on roads as early morning cycle rally has been planned in Hazratganj area, while mourning processions will be held in Thakurganj area 3pm onwards. Also, the carnival will take place in Hazratganj till late evening.
In the morning, vehicular movement will be restricted on Mahatma Gandhi Marg opposite KD Singh Babu Stadium. Motorists heading towards Hazratganj from Shaheed Smarak and Hanuman Setu will have to go via Qaiserbagh.
Those heading towards Parivartan Chowk from Hazratganj will be diverted towards China Bazar and barricades will be put up opposite district magistrate’s bungalow.
In the evening, movement will be allowed towards two parking slots in Hazratganj owing to carnival related arrangements and activities. Motorists will have to take alternative routes such as Rana Pratap Marg and Lalbagh to reach their destinations.
People heading towards Hardoi, Unnao and Kannauj and other districts may need to start early. To facilitate Muharram procession, traffic movement will be restricted in Thakurganj area. Motorist plying between Koneshwar crossing to Ghasiyari Mandi will be diverted via Tehsinganj. From 2pm, diversions will be effective as needed in Koneshwar, Tehsinganj, Balaganj and movement around Jhaulaal Imambara will be out of bounds.
