Jind, November 14

Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leaders led by Julana MLA Parminder Singh Dhull today organised a ‘pol khol’ programme in its Julana party office.

During the programme, leaders counted the “failures and wrong policies” of the state BJP government.

A special booklet prepared by the INLD would also be circulated in each house of the area soon.

During their programme, the working of the state government came under sharp criticism, especially from rural residents, who alleged that the government had been working only for the welfare of urban residents. They alleged that the BJP government had been considering only urban residents their voters and it was the main reason that rural residents were yet to see any development.

“The government has destroyed farmers, labourers and rural residents without any fault. First, there was a shortage of DAP, then power rates increased and now paddy has failed to get proper price,” Dhull said.

Some farmers of the Julana area from various villages alleged that in many villages, there was no proper electricity supply from the last many days despite repeated complaints to the authorities concerned. They alleged that whenever they visited the Power Department office, officials concerned misbehaved with them and there was still no action to improve power supply.

“Farmers are compelled to sell their paddy at Rs 1,200-1,300 per quintal as there is no one to help them in getting proper price for their produce,” Dhull said.
