Musician Dereck Mpofu has joined singers Ammara Brown and Tehn Diamond who recently landed movie roles after he got a part in upcoming movie “Camouflage”. The movie was directed by Adoration Bizure. Shooting is underway and filmmakers said they have made strides in production stages.

In an interview, Mpofu said he is excited after landing a role as one of the main characters in the upcoming movie set to hit the screens.

“This is my first film and I was

supposed to start off with a minor role but the directors were convinced that art is in my blood so they gave me this role as Denzel.

“Denzel is one of the main characters who is a musician who falls in love with a reach woman, a real estate developer and the woman goes to extreme for love to an extent of pretending to be a house maid all because of love,” he said.

Mpofu said he is excited that the movie will show the people the other side of him.

“I am a musician in the movie and I will be performing live so people will get the opportunity to see me performing live on this movie,” he said.

He added that he is going to take the opportunity to introduce some of his new works on the movie.

“Since I am going to be singing and performing, I am going to introduce my upcoming singles and also do my old songs,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mpofu said he is currently working on the video for his song “Higher” which features Shinsoman and his single “Bvisa” which features contemporary musician Jah Prayzah.

“I am shooting my video for the song ‘Higher’ which features dancehall sensation Shinsoman and also my single ‘Bvisa’ that I did with Jah Prayzah.”

Mpofu hogged the limelight with his hit “Chisikana Changu Zimbabwe” and is widely known for advocating for environment conservation.
