CS tells LDA to move top-priority projects

LUCKNOW: The UP government has instructed LDA to complete infrastructural work and begin quality construction of commercial and residential projects in its hi-tech township on Sultanpur Road called ‘CG City’ by July 2016. The township boasts of world class facilities like cancer hospital, IIIT, super-specialty hospital, modern milk processing unit and many premium housing projects.
While reviewing the project, the chief secretary instructed Amul (the dairy cooperative) to begin commercial operation of the milk processing plant in CG City before October 2016. He expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of construction of IIIT in the township and asked officials to expedite the project so that people may soon get quality technical education within the city.
He asked LDA to, “make ample security arrangements by arranging for a police outpost and a fire brigade especially for the township.” Emphasizing on Sanskrit education, he instructed LDA to complete the construction of Sanskrit schools on priority so that students may enroll in next year’s batch. Besides reviewing CG City’s progress, he also examined the under-construction projects in Janeshwar Mishra Park which is touted to be one of the biggest parks in Asia.
The park is said to have a big food court and multiple smaller mobile food kiosks. He asked the authority to get the design of the food court approved by the government so that construction may begin in time. Since most of the electrification work there was complete, he asked officials to make a corpus fund for the maintenance of the park. He also instructed the finance secretary and the housing secretary to prepare the mechanism of the funding process and present it in next meeting. Both the projects -- CG City and Janeshwar Mishra Park in Gomtinagar Extension -- are among the top priority projects of UP government.
