Mahbubnagar nurse dies of swine flu in city
HYDERABAD: In a tragic incident, a staff nurse at Perur primary health centre (PHC) in Mahbubnagar district, K Suvarna, 30, died while undergoing treatment for swine flu at a corporate hospital in Secunderabad on Monday.
Her last rites were performed at her native village at Achampet in Mahbubnagar district on Tuesday in the presence of several health department employees.

Sources said that Suvarna had contracted H1N1 virus during her visit to her native village two weeks ago but before doctors could diagnose her condition and start treatment, the deceased reportedly infected three more health workers - a pharmacist, a health worker and another nurse - at Perur PHC.
"From Mahbubnagar district hospital, we referred her case to a tertiary care hospital in Hyderabad last week after her condition worsened as she was pregnant," said Dr Govind Wagmare, district medical health officer, Mahbubnagar, adding that the other three infected health workers are doing fine.
Incidentally, this is the second swine flu death in 10 days in the city as a 34-year-old woman identified as Gunnamma from Gutikabasheerbad in Ranga Reddy district too died from swine flu related complications%% while undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital %on November 1.
