Dogtown Pizza celebrates 9-year anniversary

Dogtown Pizza in St. Louis is celebrating nine years of business.

Dogtown Pizza, a frozen pizza company located in St. Louis, is celebrating nine years of business and a mission to provide the community with the highest quality of frozen pizzas with the freshest ingredients from local suppliers.

What started out of owner Rick Schaper's kitchen in 2006 has turned into a business that employs more than 20 and features 10 varieties of frozen pizza stocked in every major St. Louis grocery store including Target, according to a company press release.

Dogtown's commitment to community, family and local businesses has remained top priority as it forged business partnerships in St. Louis.

"It's been an incredible journey that makes us excited to get up every morning, put on our aprons, and get to work," Schaper said.

For Dogtown Pizza, October is more than a birthday or a milestone. Schaper said it's about creating something that St. Louisans love and believe in.

"It's more than a birthday or milestone — it's a place and time in my life and business that represents helping the community, being a part of my suppliers' growth, being able to employ 20 people, and being a great leader and mentor," Schaper said. "That's what it's about. We want to thank our loyal customers for rooting for us, for recommending Dogtown Pizza to their friends and family, and for coming back time and time again. Our mission to provide only the highest quality of frozen pizzas with the freshest ingredients is one that we don't plan on giving up any time soon."
