Shared Asian vision

November 10, 2015 12:55 am | Updated 12:55 am IST

This is with reference to the article “China, India, and closely connected dreams” (Nov.06), by the Chinese Vice-President Li Yuanchao. It is good to see that the India-China relationship is being taken to the next level, as stated by Mr. Li in the article. However, we cannot take things for granted. China’s intentions to claim territory, be it Arunachal Pradesh or in South China Sea, are no longer hidden. Business in fake currency notes across the border is a concern, and so is the operational Zangmu hydroelectric dam on the Brahmaputra. It will be interesting to see how China keeps its word and helps both countries resolve the conflicts in order to make this century belong to the Asia.
