NDFB(S) militant nabbed during joint operation by army and police in Assam

GUWAHATI: A hardcore NDFB(S) militant has been apprehended during a joint operation by the army and police in Kokrajhar district of Assam today.

Based on specific information, army and police personnel launched a joint operation at Maslapara village and apprehended the NDFB(S) militant, a defence spokesperson said.

The militant has been identified as Myanmar-trained Sanjiv Wari alias Akas and a 9mm pistol with magazines, some live rounds and a Chinese grenade have been recovered from his possession.

He was allegedly involved in several cases of extortion, the spokesman added.
