Driven by passion, these students make it to top

BENGALURU: Single-minded pursuit and perseverance, that's what keep toppers going and these achievers are no different. Srirama Prakhya, a Class 10 student of Primus Public School in the city, is the world topper in Chemistry and Physics in the Cambridge International IGCSE examinations held in June 2015. Not just that, he's also the national topper in French.
“I focused on what I wanted to achieve. Chemistry has always been my favourite subject and I'm very happy with my performance. My goal is to make it to an IIT and then to an IIM. The ultimate goal would be to pursue MBA from Harvard University. I am thankful to my parents and teacher for their encouragement and support,“ said Srirama.
That the boy made his school proud shows in his principal's words. “I am proud and happy with his achievement,“ said Anuradha Krishnan, principal, Primus Public School.
Several students from Inventure Academy too have come out with flying colours in the November 2014 and March-June 2015 Cambridge Examination series.
“I appeared for Math exams for Classes 11 and 12; I could pull it off because of my interest in the subject and my determination. I didn't depend on tutorials.Instead, I learnt a lot from YouTube videos and other online education sites which are creative and innovative. I plan to take up theoretical physics and humanities,“ said Sridhar Prabhu from Inventure Academy, who has topped in A level Mathematics and AS level Computing. Prabhu is a Class XI student.
A level History topper Anusha Ramji of Class 11was driven by her passion for the subject . “I didn't have fixed study hours. I also pursued piano and design classes with equal passion and tried to keep stress at bay . I aspire a career in psychiatry ,“ she said.
Language topper Niketa Nerurkar of BSc 1st year had a difficult task on hand. “I'm a regional-level table tennis player and had to keep a balance between studies and extracurricular activities.One cannot have a proper agenda for preparation when it comes to languages because anything and everything can be asked in the exam. I read a lot and kept myself updated on world affairs so that I have enough information. I aim to pursue neuropsychology .“
Academy principal Mallika Sen said the awards recognize the talent, dedication and commitment of both students and staff. “Our students have lived up to Inventure Academy's philosophy of aiming for excellence in academics as well as holistic learning,“ she added.
