Mumbai: Minor molested, teacher arrested

The Nagpada police on Saturday evening arrested a 23-year-old computer teacher for allegedly molesting a school girl studying in standard nine of a school in Madanpura in Nagpada. Earlier too, the accused had allegedly tried to molest the girl, however, the incident was not reported to the police then.

According to Nagpada police, the 23-year-old accused had joined the school as a computer teacher around three months back. On Saturday late afternoon the accused allegedly tried to kiss the victim forcefully.

"The victim is a class nine student and on Saturday the accused who is a computer teacher forcefully kissed the girl. Later in the evening, the traumatised victim narrated her ordeal to her parents after which they approached to the police, a case was registered after the complaint was lodged," said an officer from Nagpada police station. He added further, "During the investigation it has been revealed that the accused had earlier too made advances towards the victim. We have arrested the accused immediately after the case was registered."

The Nagpada police booked the accused for molestation and other relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
