Over 2000 Huriyat workers were also put on house arrests and prisons to stop millions' march

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Kashmiris have spoken; the people of the disputed Jammu and Kashmir have rejected Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Rs 80 thousand crore economic package, Dunya News reported.

The region of occupied Kashmir echoed with anti-Modi slogans. The Indian army fired bullets to disperse the protestors which led to killing of a Kashmiri youth.

The people of the occupied valley protested in various ways including releasing black balloons in the air upon Modi’s arrival and chanting loud slogans against Modi-led regime.

The puppet state government had already sealed Sri Nagar to stop Huriyat leaders from holding million march against Modi’s arrival.

Over 2000 workers were also put on house arrests and prisons. The valley presented a picture as though it was fortified upon Modi’s arrival. The valley was shut down using armoured vehicles, military troops, barbed wires and countless check posts.

Upon arrival in Sri Nagar, the venue was filled with borrowed attendees brought from Bihar and other regions of India.

Narendra Modi on Saturday has admitted that Kashmiris have suffered a lot over the years and dreams have been crushed generation after generation.

He admitted sufferings of Kashmir locals in his speech in Srinagar today.

Modi has announced Rs 80,000 crore package for development of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Indian PM, held responsible by various sectors for Gujrat massacre said that he wants to drive Kashmir back to its glory and was hopeful that the day is not far. He said that Kashmir is the birthplace of Sufism which teaches people to come together.

Indian police during crackdown against Hurriyet leaders and activists arrested more members including Bilal Siddiqi, Mushtaq-ul-Islam and Ghulam Nabi Zaki from different areas of India-held Kashmir.

The police during house raids also arrested Hurriyet activists, Arshid Aziz, Muhammad Ayub Naikoo, Tanveer Ahmad and Imtiyaz Ahmad and raided their residences in all parts of Kashmir Valley.The arrest of leaders and activists is part of the crackdown on Hurriyet leaders to foil the Million March to be conducted in Srinagar on Saturday. Call for the march has been given by the forum patronised by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, and supported by other pro-freedom leaders and organisations to protest against the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s visit to the Kashmir Valley on the day.

Over 2,000 Hurriyet leaders and activists including Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Aasiya Andrabi, Fareeda Bahenji, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Mohammad Yousuf Mir, Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi, Abdul Ahad Para, Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori, Mohammad Yaseen Attai, Muhammad Ramzan Khan, Farooq Ahmad Tawheedi, Mohammad Ayaz Akbar, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Syed Imtiyaz Haider, Mohammad Shafi Rishi, Mir Hafeezullah, Raja Merajudin Kalwal, Engineer Farooq Ahmad Khan, Peer Saifullah, Zafar Akbar Butt, Javaid Ahmad Mir, Hilal Ahmad War, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Moulvi Bashir Ahmad, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Showket Ahmad Bakhshi, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, Shahid-ul-Islam and Fahmeeda Sofi have been detained in their houses or police stations to stop them from leading the march.
