A 10-year-old male leopard that was caught in a snare in a plantation near Hosakoppa, a village in Shikaripur taluk, has been rescued by the forest officials.
The plantation belongs to Malleshappa.
It was said that the leopard was caught in a snare, which was meant to o trap wild boars.
On Friday morning, farmers in the vicinity, saw the leopard struggling to get its legs removed from the snare. The forest officials, who arrived at the spot, tranquillised the animal and later shifted it to a bone.
Deputy Conservator of Forest Mohan Gangolli said that the animal was healthy.
