MUMBAI: A chemical analyst, who is a witness in the 2003 Mulund train blast
case, told a special POTA
court that he did not find traces of either RDX or TNT, both explosive substances, from the bomb site.
The witness said that he had made the noting in his report. The revelation was made by the witness, an assistant chemical analyst, who was cross-examined by defence advocate Wahab Khan.
The defence said that this was in contravention to the claims made by the prosecution, which had alleged that the traces were found on several articles recovered from the accused in the case. The blast that ripped through the ladies first-class compartment on March 13, 2003, at Mulund also injured 82. The blast had come in quick succession after an explosion in Vile Parle in January 2003. tnn
