Dehradun, November 6

Members of the Uttarakhand Against Corruption staged a demonstration at the office of the  District Supply Officer (DSO) here today against the non-availability of ration for the poor and “pathetic” working conditions at the DSO office.

They met the DSO and gave him a bag full of garbage and food packets as a symbolic gesture pointing towards the pathetic conditions of the office.

The protesters alleged garbage scattered on the office premises clearly pointed towards the inefficiency of the DSO. They added poor supply of foodgrains had created problems for the people of the city.

The protesters said the new online ration distribution service had created more confusion. The names of several ration card holders were missing on the online site.

The protesters demanded that the old ration distribution service should be restored.
