NOIDA: Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has cancelled leaves of all staffs on the festive season of Diwali. The transport department has also started promotional schemes for drivers and helpers to ferry more passengers and facilitate their journey during the festive season of Diwali.
The transport department has launched a week long programme from 7-14 November to ensure that the buses are available for people to travel in NCR cities of Ghaziabad, Delhi, Meerut, Muradabad,, Bareily, Aligardh, Kanpur, etc.

Parvez Bashir, assistant regional manager, UPSRTC, said that during festive season people need more public transports for commuting. “Considering this, the UPSRT has started a bonus scheme and the bus drivers and conductors will be given Rs 2800 for the week long work. The contractual workers will be given Rs 2400 for the same,” he said. The transport department has also cancelled the leaves of drivers had conductors to facilitate commuting in festive season. “We have advised all the drivers and helpers to drive ideally and also pick passengers at all the bus stops,” he said.
There are 168 buses of UPSRTC in Noida Depot which ply in NCR cities. There are around 100 more additional buses which come to Noida from other NCR cities. The officials said that there are 20 UPSRTC buses which ferry passengers from Noida to Greater Noida and their frequency will be increased in festive season.
