City boy flexes muscle, wins 3 titles at body building c’ship

THANE: Lake City’s Swapnil Surve won the coveted 27th district-level Mavli Mandal Shree title that was held under the aegis of Thane District Amateur Body Building Association. The event was held at Mavli Mandal hall recently. Surve was also declared as the best poser of the competition.
Surve was up against 70 top body builders from across the district.Surve flexed his muscles and managed to bag the top spot. He also won the title in the short group category, taking his tally to three, which are Mavli Mandal Shree title winner, best poser and short group champion.
“It was a proud moment to have clinched the crown at the district-level competition. This achievement means a lot to me,” said Surve.
In the team championship, Bhiwandi-based Universal Physique Centre won the crown by scoring 14 points. Thane’s Muscle Build Gym bagged the runners’ up spot.
The top three medal winners in each group were Swapnil Surve, Rupesh Tribhuvane, Rajeev Jinna (short group), Sagar Bhoir, Ashit Mahale, Prashant Gadekar (medium group), Kamlesh Tekchandani, Avinash Mulvi, Lalit Manvade (tall group), Umer Mirza, Crosmav Gracious, Mazhar Ali Sayed (super tall group).
