Tech Mahindra stocks ended 10.29 per cent up at Rs 528.55 after its consolidated net profit almost doubled to Rs 897.08 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2016. The Mumbai-based company had posted a net profit of Rs 472 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty snapped six-day losing streak on Tuesday on the back of firm Asian cues. However, concerns about earnings capped the gains. Sensex gained 31.44 pts to close at 26,590.59, while Nifty surged 9.90 points up to close at 8,060.70.

In the 50-share index, NTPC, Power Grid, ACC, Mahindra & Mahindra and Hindalco gained between 1.60 per cent and 2.40 per cent. On the other hand, Asian Paints, Lupin, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Adani Ports slid between 1.40 per cent and 1.95 per cent.

Tilaknagar Industries: Share price of the liquor maker ended 17.53 per cent up at Rs 27.15 after the company inked a pact with Scotland-based Three Stills Company to explore opportunities to distribute scotch whisky in the country.

PVR: Multiplex chain operator PVR reported 346.20 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 41.05 crore for the second quarter ended September 30. The company had reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 9.20 crore for the July-September quarter of last fiscal. Later, the share price closed 2.19 per cent down at Rs 842.45.

Adani Power: Share price of Adani Power closed 2.69 per cent down at Rs 30.75 after it reported that its consolidated net loss for the September quarter narrowed to Rs 369.08 crore helped by higher sale of electricity.

Lupin: Share price of the pharma major was trading 0.93 per cent down at Rs 1881.95 in the afternoon trade after the company said it has received final approval from the US drug regulator to market generic Aricept tablets used for treatment of dementia. The share price of the company later closed 1.38 per cent down at Rs 1873.50.

Sun Pharma: Share price of the company ended 0.32 per cent up at Rs 868.30 after the drug major said that it has completed acquisition of the US-based eyecare firm InSite Vision.

Eros International: The entertainment firm shares were trading 10 per cent up in early trade after it said on Monday that it has engaged a US-based law firm to conduct an independent internal review in the wake of an anonymous campaign spreading “false and malicious information” that has negatively impacted the company’s share prices. Later, the share price closed 2.18 per cent down at Rs 245.05.

Amtek Auto: The shares of the auto component maker jumped as much as 12 per cent in the morning trade on Tuesday after the company on Monday said that it has appointed Morgan Stanley as advisors to assist in its debt reduction plan. The Amtek group is understood to owe over Rs 26,000 crore to 32 banks, including State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, IDBI Bank, Bank of Maharashtra and UCO Bank. The share price of the company closed 14.34 per cent down at Rs 44.25.

United Spirits: The share price of the company soared 5.34 per cent after the liquor major on Monday posted a net profit of Rs 929.3 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2015, on the back of Rs 870 crore share sale in United Breweries Ltd. Later, the scrip closed 5.60 per cent up at Rs 3432.15.

Reliance Power: Share price of the company ended 0.70 per cent down at Rs 49.45 after the company reported 36.57 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 345.63 crore for the quarter ended on September 30, on higher electricity generation.

Hero MotoCorp: Country’s largest two-wheeler maker closed 1.21 per cent up at Rs 2580 after the company reported 11.25 per cent rise in sales at 6,39,802 units in October, its highest ever in a single month.
