PALANPUR: Nearly 120 cumin bags (each bag containing 60kg) worth Rs 10.80 lakh were stolen from the godown in Unjha town on Saturday night.
Trader Chandra Kumar Jain, who lodged a complaint told police that two locks including one that belonged to the bank, were replaced by the thieves. The bags were stored since March.
Unjha police said they were surprised by the negligence on part of the trader who did not take the trouble to check the goods for six months.
He also remained ignorant of the fact that the locks were replaced much before the theft.
