BHIWANI, OCTOBER 29
Four persons were charred to death in an accident between a canter and truck between Atela Khurd and Barsana villages on the Dadri-Loharu road in the wee hours today.
Two of the deceased in the canter were identified as Sandeep and Ompal, both residents of Jhunjunu of Rajasthan. Two others who were in the truck were yet to be identified, said the police.
Sources said an empty chemical tanker bearing Gujarat registration number which was on its way to Loharu from Dadri collided head-on with a canter coming from the opposite direction after one of the vehicles reportedly lost control over the wheels.
The mishap was so fierce that the front portions of both vehicles were badly damaged, trapping the conductors . Later, the vehicles caught fire, burning the victims to death.
The police said the bodies were extricated from the vehicles using machines and sent to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Efforts were being made to contact the victims’ family members, the police added. —TNS
