Conference on indigenous tech at VNIT

Vijnana Bharti and Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) will be organizing a three-day conference on indigenous technology for the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in state and innovators in country’s research laboratories from February 5 to 7 at VNIT.

NAGPUR: Vijnana Bharti and Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) will be organizing a three-day conference on indigenous technology for the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in state and innovators in country’s research laboratories from February 5 to 7 at VNIT.
Former National Physical Laboratory and Indian Space Research Organisation scientist Mithilesh Tiwari, conference coordinator, told reporters it was an effort to bring the academia close to the industry so that the knowledge can be converted into products.
The VNIT director Narendra Chaudhari said conference will have technical sessions on agriculture and food, energy, environment, health and medicine, critical technologies, modern materials, upgrading infrastructure and sustainable development for villages and cities.
Vishram Jamdar, chairman of VNIT board of governors, said the conference will have participation from about 700 institutions. Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and the Union Minister of Road Transport Nitin Gadkari are the chief mentors for the conference. Secretary of Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA) Rohit Agrawal said that the best research in the country came from national laboratories but needed to be translated into products and processes.
