Bruges Waffles and Frites Receives Warm, Wonderful Welcome in Draper
Draper, UT (PRWEB) October 28, 2015 -- Bruges Waffles and Frites, a new restaurant franchise serving authentic Belgian food, including sandwiches, fries and yes, even Belgian Waffles, had a remarkable opening recently in their new Draper location. Greeted enthusiastically by the residents of Draper and all the surrounding areas, it appears that Utahns have a taste for good, quality Belgian food. And why wouldn’t they? Belgian waffles are world famous for a reason.
Pierre VanDamme, owner and founder of the original Bruges, Waffles and Frites, has said it’s always been a dream of his to work in the food industry. “This is something that I’ve always wanted to do and to see so many people be accepting of the recipes I grew up on, it’s truly remarkable.” Bruges, Waffles and Frites has four restaurants, all located in Utah, but they have plans to go bigger.
“For us, Draper is such a natural fit and a great way to introduce ourselves to a broader community,” said VanDamme. “We’ve got restaurants in downtown SLC and Provo, but we wanted one that would serve the middle of the Salt Lake Valley. Draper is the perfect place because it’s a booming area and, more than that, we believe the residents of Draper are hungry for good food and good service. And, by all accounts, they’ve loved the new restaurant—and we’ve certainly loved having them.”
“Sometimes it’s tough to find places to eat that are unique,” said Draper resident George Roberts. “There are so many chain restaurants or restaurants that don’t have much of a Utah tie. I’m really happy that I’ve found some place to go that’s unique. Plus, the waffles are to die for. Who wouldn’t want to come back for those delicious little gems?”
Judy Miles, another Draper resident says that dining on the south end of the Salt Lake Valley is sorely lacking—and she hopes more restaurants follow the Bruges, Waffles and Frites model. “It’s excellent food. Truly excellent. And it’s unique to boot. When I lived downtown, it was a regular haunt for me and it was one of the things I missed when I moved south. But, now that it’s out here, I tell all my friends how good it is and their missing out if they don’t try it. I mean, the waffles are delicious.”
VanDamme says that they haven’t decided where they want to open up next, but the possibilities are out there. For now, though, he couldn’t be happier with the new restaurant in Draper. “The people here are incredibly friendly and focused on delivering good experiences for their families. I just hope that we can play a small role in that dynamic while also serving up some killer food.”
