Photo Kathmandu’s series of workshops begins
A workshop series on photography, hosted by Photo Kathmandu, kicked off at Sundhara House, Patan, Lalitpur, on Tuesday.A workshop series on photography, hosted by Photo Kathmandu, kicked off at Sundhara House, Patan, Lalitpur, on Tuesday. The photography festival will see a total of seven workshops namely: Translating The Voice: Explorations in Listening and Writing; Photographing the Everyday; Visual Thinking in the Editorial Process; Writing Photography; Using Visual Media for Social Justice Campaigns; Beyond the Camera and Inheritance.
The series started with the workshop titled Translating The Voice: Explorations in Listening and Writing. During the workshop, led by Indira Chowdhuri, director of the Centre for Public History at the Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology, Bengaluru, participants were briefed on the art of writing about oral history. The workshop will run through October 30.
The festival will see noted photographers and collectives from around the world. Participating in the festival will be photographers Bikas Rauniyar (Nepal), The Bind Collective (India), Nicolas Marie (France), Kishor Sharma (Nepal), Maia Ruth Lee (South Korea) and Peter Sutherland (USA), among many others.
