NaMo finds '3 Idiots' in JD(U), RJD & Congress

SITAMARHI/BETTIAH/MOTIHARI: The war of words in Bihar escalated with Narendra Modi likening JD(U), RJD and Congress to ‘3 Idiots’ as he ridiculed Nitish Kumar for reciting a poem penned on the pattern of a hit number from the Aamir Khan-starrer.
On Monday, Nitish recited the poem at a Patna presser to dismiss Modi and his “false” promises. It went: “Behti hawa sa tha woh, Gujarat se aaya tha woh, kaala dhan laane waala tha woh, kahan gaya usse dhundho…”
“Why did you choose ‘Three Idiots’,” Modi asked Nitish contemptuously on Tuesday and said so far Lalu had been entertaining with his speeches but it turns out Nitish is competing with his alliance partner.“There’s a competition over who entertains better,” he said amid roars of laughter from the crowd.

Modi said he had fulfilled his promise of a special package to Bihar. He claimed Nitish failed to provide electricity to all and, as promised by him, did not have the right to seek votes. Attacking Nitish for not using around Rs 300 crore for housing the poor and almost Rs 800 crore of PM’s Gram Sadak Yojna, Modi feared the Rs 1.25 lakh crore special package would remain unutilised with Nitish at the helm. “It was a wise decision not to give the package immediately after NDA won office at the Centre because Nitish would not have used it properly,” the PM said.
He promised to develop tourism in the region as part of the Ramayana circuit and a four-lane expressway from Bihar-UP border to Nepal.
Taking a dig at Nitish for meeting a tantrik, Modi said Nitish was so desperate for power that not only did he end up joining hands with Lalu and Sonia but also visited a tantrik. “Nitish’s desperation is akin to a patient’s family that visits tantriks as a last resort to save a patient,” he said. At Bettiah, he reiterated the Nitish-Lalu duo was conspiring to rob SCs, STs and OBCs of 5% of their quota to benefit other communities.
“I’ll never allow this,” he said. “It (robbery) is an old habit… Those who stole fodder now want to devour reservations,” Modi said.
