14 injured in group clash

MENDHAR, Oct 27: At least 14 persons were injured in a group clash over a land dispute at a village in Mendhar area of district Poonch today.
Official sources said that family members of Abdul Hamid and Mohd Latief (ex-serviceman), residents of village Tain in Mankote, freely exchanged lathis and sharp edged weapons during bloody clash over a piece of land measuring 5 kanal 8 marla. The disputed land is in possession of Abdul Hamid while the other party (Mohd Latief) claimed that it belonged to them. The family had old dispute over it.
Today, a small tiff between the two groups turned into a bloody clash in which 14 members of both sides were injured. One of them namely Mohd Lateef (II), a Naik in 156 TA Bn  has also been booked in this connection. One Mohd Rameez  was referred to GMC hospital Jammu for head injury. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
