JAMMU, Oct 25: Minister of State for Education, Information Technology and Culture, Priya Sethi flagged off J&K State Softball men and women contingent in an impressive function, here today.
The contingent left for Chandigarh to participate in the 37th Senior National Softball Championship from October 27 to November 1, 2015 and North Zone Championship at Parwanoo in Himachal Pradesh from Novemeber 6 to November 8, 2015.
Thirty nine probables were selected in 2-days open trials earlier, who attended a 10 days coaching camp at MA Stadium.
Mrs Sethi was accompanied by senior BJP leader Suresh Jamwal during flag off ceremony. Prominent among others present on the occasion were Chaman Lal Bhat, general secretary, J&K Softball Association and senior softball players including Padam Dev, S Harvinder Singh, Rohit Jamwal and Rawat Singh.
Women team: Samdeep Kour, Gulshan Begum, Monika Devi, Rishu Sharma, Sonia Chib, Bipna Devi, Nayna, Zahida Parveen, Kanwaljeet Kour, Jyoti Bala, Priyanka Manhas, Sanya Gandotra, Supreet Kour, Mithali Bhat, Afroza, Usmat Hanief and Madhu Rani.
Men team: Aman Singh, Jasbir Singh, Sachin Singh Jamwal, Ayush Singh, Ghar Singh, Ajay Singh Slathia, Vikram Singh Chib, Varinder Slathia, Vikram Singh, Vishal Singh hib, Rakesh Singh, Shanawaz Baba, Prashant Singh Manhas, Shivam Basnotra, Koushal Singh Bhau, Mintu Sharma and Varun Singh Jamwal.
