Robbery bid foiled by Thane crime branch in Ulhasnagar

The Central police officials from Ulhasnagar and the Thane crime branch unit 04 have caught a gang of five persons, who were planning to commit an armed dacoity. They were arrested around 7.15pm near Chopda Court, Ulhasnagar, on October 23. The accused will be soon produced in the court.

A case has been registered under section 399 of the Indian Penal Code. The accused have been identified as Durgesh Suresh Gaikwad, 25, Rohan Ramesh Kinjwadkar, 29, Dinesh Rajkumar Panjwani, 28, Pankaj Harnam Das Chimnani, 26, and Manish Kumar. All the five are Thane residents.

A police official from the Central police station said, "The accused will be soon produced in the court. The place where they were planning dacoity is yet unknown. All the five accused are known to each other. We are trying to find if they have any link-up with other gangs. Further investigation is on."
