Need to introduce job oriented courses, say industry experts

Nagpur: An interactive session on skill development was organized by Bharatiya Kamgar Sena on Friday, where representatives from various companies participated. The industrial delegates aired their views on various aspects related to the issue, which would be beneficial to stakeholders of the society, including industrialists, entrepreneurs, managements, HR managers and workers.
All the members discussed their requirements and agreed there is a need to introduce new job oriented courses.
An initiative was taken by Mahindra and Mahindra, Nagpur, in the session to start a one-year diploma programme in the subject of ‘Operations Management’ for its workers in association with Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU), Nashik. Vice Chancellor of YCMOU M Solankhe accepted the proposal.
“All the representatives of industries at this YCMOU meet would like to be associated with industries of Vidarbha region to develop knowledge and skill of industrial workers,” said Solankhe. The session was presided over by Ashutosh Tripathi, plant head of Mahindra at Nagpur. Representatives from various companies such as TATA Aerospace Limited, KEC International Limited, Jaika Motors, Reliance and others participated in the session along with Sachin Arora, plant head of Grindwell Norton and Prakash Deshmukh, director of School of Commerce and Management, YCMOU.
