Thousands of people thronged to the TOI Lokhandwala Durgotsav 2015 to seek Durga Maa's blessings and see the beautifully-decked pandal, which was brimming with festive fervour on Tuesday and Wednesday.Abhijeet Bhattacharya, the host, kick-started the festivities by beating the traditional
dhak (drums) along with 40 other
dhakis (drummers) from Kolkata. Joining him was singer
Alka Yagnik, who performed the Dhunuchi dance.
In the cultural programme, Yagnik crooned some of her popular numbers from the 90s, while singer
Shaan charmed everyone with
Bollywood hits and Tagore songs. Akriti Kakar later took to the stage on Shaan's insistence and sung a Ganesh
bhajan. On Ashtami,
Kailash Kher belted out some of his hits.A special performance was also organised where artistes showcased various Indian classical dances.
