Abhijeet Bhattacharya, the host, kick-started the festivities by beating the traditional dhak (drums) along with 40 other dhakis (drummers) from Kolkata. Joining him was singer Alka Yagnik, who performed the Dhunuchi dance.
In the cultural programme, Yagnik crooned some of her popular numbers from the 90s, while singer Shaan charmed everyone with Bollywood hits and Tagore songs. Akriti Kakar later took to the stage on Shaan's insistence and sung a Ganesh bhajan. On Ashtami, Kailash Kher belted out some of his hits.A special performance was also organised where artistes showcased various Indian classical dances.
