With the festival of Dussehra just around the corner, several parts of the country come up with pandals where effigies of the Raavan will be set on fire for the occasion. However, recent years have shown craftsmen experimenting with colours when preparing the form of the mythological demon king.
These effigies, which are no less than other works of art, come in almost psychedelic hues right from bright greens to brilliant pinks and striking reds. They certainly play a major role in attracting the people for the festive traditions.
