NBC Cuts Eva Longoria’s ‘Hot and Bothered,’ America Ferrera’s ‘Superstore’ Orders

Midseason comedies will get 11 episodes apiece instead of 13

NBC has cut its orders for comedies “Hot and Bothered” and “Superstore.”

The pair of midseason comedies have both had their episode orders reduced from 13 to 11.

“Superstore” marks the return to television for “Ugly Betty” star America Ferrera as a supervisor in a big-box megastore who works with a rag-tag crew that doesn’t always put the customer first. Ben Feldman, Mark McKinney, Lauren Ash, Colton Dunn, Nichole Bloom and Nico Santos also star. Series creator Justin Spitzer serves executive producer alongside David Bernad and director Ruben Fleischer.

“Hot and Bothered” stars “Desperate Housewives” alum Eva Longoria as Ana Sofia, a telenovela star. The series’ cast also includes Jencarlos Canela, Diana Maria Riva, Jose Moreno Brooks, Alex Meneses, Amaury Nolasco, Jadyn Douglas and Izzy Diaz. Longoria serves as executive producer with Chrissy Pietrosh, Jessica Goldstein and Ben Spector.

Both series are produced by NBC’s sister studio, Universal Television.
