As we reach the final quarter of 2015, the seasons of festivals beckons us. People are eagerly waiting for the month to turn November to welcome the festival of lights, Diwali. From Durga Puja in Bengal to Golu festival in Tamil Nadu to Dandia nights in Gujrat, Navratri is widely celebrated across the country. And what better way to celebrate than having some crazy fun grooving to Bollywood songs tailor made for such occasions. During each day of Navratri, I will bring you one Bollywood song to celebrate the festivities. And today’s Navratri song of the day is Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi by pop sensation Falguni Pathak. Falguni Pathak is a name synonymous with ‘Dandiya’ as well as Indipop. Besides being a powerful vocalist and an energetic performer, Falguni Pathak has the most number of hit dandiya songs to her credit and one of them is Yaad piya ki aane lagi. Also, we all remember the cute Riya Sen who featured in the song. Not only Yaad piya ki aane lagi became popular, the trademark step of Riya and Falguni from the song too became a rage amongst the youth. This dandiya track is a romantic one and the music has a lot of Gujarati traditional elements in it. Not to forget, Falguni Pathak’s soothing voice is what makes it even better.
