It was a close call for a Newburyport woman driving to Logan Airport on Route 1 in Saugus early Tuesday.Watch video | ImagesA piece of scrap metal came flying off a truck and smashed through the windshield of Marybeth Shay's Audi Q5 SUV."It flew out of the truck … some sparks were kind of flying from the truck," Shay, 48, said. "It landed in my windshield."Luckily, the metal hit the passenger side, where no one was sitting."I was coming under the overpass, it flew out of the truck. Sparks were kind of flying from the truck," she said.State police say they're working to track down the truck that dropped the debris. They said it is possible the driver did not know the piece flew out."(I'm) feeling fortunate! Should go play the lottery!" Shay said.
