Ko 2 is inspired by a Tollywood flick

The makers were keeping this under wraps
There have been reports that Ko 2, directed by Sharath starring Bobby Simha in the lead, is a remake of the Nara Rohith-starrer Telugu film Pratinidhi. We hear that the makers were keeping this under wraps.
When DC spoke to Sharath, he says, “The movie isn’t completely a remake of Pratinidhi, but has been inspired by it. We have acquired the rights of the original film and have made changes to the Tamil version. Almost 60 per cent of the script has been altered according to the taste and preference of our audience. The idea of producing Ko 2 had been in producer Elred Kumar’s mind for a long time, but we found bringing together the required talent quite challenging. When I narrated the story to him, he felt that my script would be perfect for Ko 2.”
Interestingly, Sarath’s brother Prashanth had directed Pratinidhi which released last year. Ko 2 is said to revolve around a Chief Minister who gets kidnapped by a common man. While Prakash Raj plays the Chief Minister, Bobby Simha essays a television reporter — the ‘common man’. The film is produced under the banner RS Infotainment and Leo James of Kanchana 2 fame has composed music. Antony L Ruben has been roped in as the editor.
