Writers across the nation have been returning their literary honours and resigning from official posts of Sahitya Akademi. Latest to join the club of Nayantara Sahgal, Ashok Vajpeyi and Shashi Deshpande are feminist writer Sara Joseph and poet K. Satchidanandan.

When Nayantara Sagal, niece of Jawaharlal Nehru, returned her Akademi award she spoke at length about the reason behind such a strong reaction. She cited government's failure to protect India's cultural diversity as the main reason.

She condemned the recent Dadri lynching case and also the killings of rationalists like MM Kalburgi and Narendra Dabholkar.

Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari, Sahitya Akademi President too will writer a letter condemning the attack on writers, specially the killing of M.M. Kalburgi and Govind Pansare, and restrictions on freedom of expression. But he refused to take a political stand by clarifying that the Akademi will not involve itself in the Dadri lynching case, an incident which many writers have condemned.

Amidst all this, Chetan Bhagat who is equally trolled and read by the masses tweeted about this returning of literary honours.

He asked his followers if he too should return his "imaginary" award.

Chetan Bhagat might not have imagined that we would get trolled for this considering he clarified that he has not received Sahitya Akademi award yet. But this man gave a befitting and hilarious reply to the Half Girlfriend writer on Twitter.

This man of wits declared that he will return his ration card in protest if Chetan Bhagat receives a literary honour.

From getting trolled for judging a dance-reality show called Nach Baliye to writing a piece for Times of India titled "Anatomy of an internet troll" wherein he wrote about the concept of bhakts in India and bashed the "male bhakts" with bad English, this is not the first time that Chetan Bhagat was trolled on social media.

Chetan Bhagat on Nach Baliye : Dance like no one is watching ! Contestant : But sir you please don't write like no one is reading..
