Dozens of bus shelters were damaged early Friday morning in one Kitchener neighbourhood.

Waterloo Regional Police spokesperson Alana Holtom said that at least 20 to 25 shelters were affected.

“We’re hopeful that people in the community may have seen something and can report that in to police,” she said in an interview.

The damaged shelters were all in the Stanley Park area of Kitchener, particularly on River Road and streets running off of it.

It’s believed that the vandalism occurred around 2:30 a.m. Friday.

The cost for repairing the shelters is not yet known.

It will be borne by the advertising firm which owns the shelters, and not Grand River Transit.
