Two young labourers were killed in an explosion in a scrap warehouse, located on the outskirts of the city on Friday evening.
The incident occurred at a scarp warehouse in Shahnawaz Goth, Pipri, within the jurisdiction of Bin Qasim Police Station. SHO Muhammad Akbar said that the initial investigation gave them no reason to believe it was an act of arson. The two young labourers, both employees at the warehouse, were hammering a water suction pump when it exploded. They were critically injured and succumbed to their injuries while being transported to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment. They were identified as 22-year-old Naveed and 27-year-old Javed.
