"The Dadri incident was a pre-planned conspiracy...you will come to know the names. According to the information I have gathered, three persons related to a specific party are behind the incident," said Yadav.

Samajwadi party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said Thursday that the lynching of a man in Dadri last week, following rumours that he allegedly consumed beef, was a conspiracy hatched by three persons “from one organisation” who had also played a similar role in the Muzaffarnagar riots of 2013.

“I have been informed about three names who are responsible for hatching this Dadri conspiracy. They played a role in the Muzaffarnagar riots as well. We are examining these names and will reveal them soon,” he told reporters in his first public remarks on the killing of Mohammad Akhlaq in Bisara village on September 28.

The SP chief refused to identify the three or the organisation, saying his party would first conduct an inquiry before making the names public. He also said that “stern action” would be taken to crush communal forces “even if it means sacrificing my own government”.

Praising President Pranab Mukherjee for his statement on Wednesday that diversity, tolerance and plurality are India’s core values that must be protected, Mulayam said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, “who speaks about Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, should take serious note of the Dadri incident”.

“There are some forces trying to disturb communal harmony in the state. Such incidents are a threat to the unity of the nation and part of a well-planned conspiracy. How would one feel if one’s father or brother, who safeguards the boundaries of our nation, are killed?” said Mulayam.

Festive offer

Referring once again to the three unidentified people who are allegedly behind the Dadri lynching, Mulayam asked Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to deal with them strictly. “I would ask Chief Minister to find out and investigate about these names and take action,” said Mulayam.

”I myself have seen many riots, I have seen Ayodhya. I have had the bitter experience of how these communal forces spread and work. But they will be exposed now. It is the question of the country. The SP Government and the Chief Minister will take it up seriously and ensure that such incidents are not repeated,” said Mulayam.

Stressing that his son Akhilesh was facing the same challenges that he had once faced as CM, Mulayam said, “I would tell him that mere talk will not solve these things, such forces have to be crushed.”

Mulayam also said that the SP Government was taking up various development projects in the state and “such incidents” were aimed at diverting the attention of people.
