SWITZERLAND – Ariaen Zimmerman has been appointed Executive Director of Cargo 2000 (C2K), an IATA Interest Group established to lead the drive towards enhanced quality throughout the air cargo industry. Zimmerman’s C2K team includes Laura Rodriguez, Assistant Manager, who has been working with IATA’s cargo division for two years, Sebastian Schirmers, who joined C2K as Operations Manager in August from DB Schenker, and Phil Sims, Secretary to the Board. The management team will continue to work closely with its Membership Board, chaired by Kuehne + Nagel’s Global Head of Carrier and Gateway Air Logistics Max Sauberschwarz and with the IATA Cargo standards team.

NORWAY – Odfjell has appointed Harald Fotland, previously Senior Vice President/Chief of Staff, as the new head of Odfjell Tankers. Additionally, Arild Viste, previously Vice President for Commercial Development has been appointed to the role of Global Head of Tanker Trading in Odfjell Tankers.

GERMANY – SAL Heavy Lift has announced Sune Thorleifsson as its new Head of Project Department, effective since October 1.

UK – Mark Preece, former CEO for Ceona Offshore, has joined the Port of Tyne as a Non-Executive Director.

UK – Kewill has announced the appointment of Doug Braun as its new CEO, effective immediately. Braun’s predecessor, Bob Farrell will continue with the company to ensure a smooth transition until December. The company has also named Jim Hoefflin as President and COO.

FRANCE – CHINA – Oliver Volk has been appointed Director of European Development of CH Robinson's Asia Global Forwarding division. Additionally, Rajendra Tamil has been appointed Route Development Manager for Asia, at Europe Global Forwarding.

INDIA – The Federation of Freight Forwarders Association in India (FFFAI) has elected Samir Shah as its new Chairman for the term 2015-17. Additionally, Ashish Pednekar, A.V.Vijaykumar, Shankar Shinde, Sujit Chakraborthy, Sudhir Agarwal and S. Ramakrishna were elected as Vice Chairmen with Amit Kamat elected as Secretary and Vinod Sharma as Treasurer, all for the same two-year term.

US – Genesee & Wyoming has announced Albert Neupaver and Joseph Pyne to its Board of Directors. In conjunction with the new appointments, Robert Melzer has informed the Board that he intends to resign from the Board following the February 2016 meeting, and Philip Ringo has informed the Board that he will not stand for re-election at the end of his term in May 2016.

US – Kirk Freimuth has returned to C.R. England as its new President of its Dedicated Division. Dedicated is the largest of the temperature controlled specialists divisions.

US – Hyundai Motor Company has announced Christopher Spear as Vice President of Government Affairs, based in Washington DC. In this role, Spear will have responsibility for the direction of Hyundai's growing federal and state government affairs practices. Spear assumed his role October 1, joining Hyundai from the American Trucking Associations, where he served as Senior Vice President of Legislative Affairs. 

US – The American Trucking Association has named Don Lynn as its new Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

US – Linde Food has appointed Ryan Wall to Application Sales Engineer for the food and beverage markets in Texas. He is responsible for sales and providing food manufacturing companies with food chilling, freezing, and modified atmosphere packaging solutions.

US – The Dean of United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) at Kings Point, New York, Dr. Shashi Kumar will leave the Academy to serve as Deputy Associate Administrator and National Coordinator for Maritime Education and Training at the headquarters of the Maritime Administration (MARAD).

US – FMC Technologies has announced Kay Priestly to its Board of Directors, effective since October 2.

CANADA – Corinn Bell has been appointed acting Commissioner and Vince Ready appointed acting Deputy Commissioner for the Container Trucking Commissioner Office. Bell’s predecessor, Andy Smith, resigned from the role last month having garnered plenty of criticism in his short time.

The Office of the Container Trucking Commissioner will also bring in labour law and labour relations expert Elena Miller, who is currently Legal Counsel and Adjudicator for the Labour Relations Board and the Employment Standards Tribunal, to support the office’s work. She will provide the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner with her administrative and legal expertise to enforce the act.

CANADA – BSM Technologies has appointed Peter Callaghan, former Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Webtech Wireless, as the company’s Chief Sales Officer. Additionally, Chief Commercial Officer, Stewart Pinos has left his role, effective immediately.

SOUTH AFRICA – DHL Global Forwarding has named Daniella de Pauw as its new Sub-Saharan Africa Chief Executive Officer. In her new role, de Pauw is based in Johannesburg and will be responsible for driving growth in the Sub-Saharan Africa region, reporting to Thomas Nieszner, CEO, DHL Global Forwarding Europe.
