'Minecraft' is adding an incredible new feature that you need to see in action

"Minecraft" has changed pretty dramatically since it first went on sale in May 2009.

The game originally launched in an incomplete form, with early buyers getting access to an unfinished, less expensive version of the "Minecraft" played by millions today. Since those early days, the game's added quests and towns and dialog and many more of the staples of modern games. It's a completely different game today than it was back in 2009, nonetheless in, say, early 2015.

And it's about to get another major change: in the next version of "Minecraft" on PC, the game's getting a cape and a glider. That may not sound like a big deal… but wait until you see it in action:

See that flying person? Pretty intense, right? That was tweeted out by "Minecraft" developer Jens Bergentsen on October 6 — it's a feature coming in two parts to the next update (1.9) in "Minecraft" for Windows 10. One addition is a cape, which allows players to fly. The other addition is a glider, which allows players to glide. They look as such:

Left: Cape | Right: Glider Mojang

You might think that the cape was the obvious winner of the two, but you might be wrong! Check this out, as spotted on Reddit:

Now that's what we call an incredible addition. A game-changer, if you will! Here's one more look at the absurdity in action, care of Bergentsen:
