Dadri lynching: Will never quit Bisara permanently, says Akhlaq’s family

“As you can see, our family members have not shifted anywhere and do not intend to do so either. We are very much in Bisara,” Jamil, Akhlaq’s elder brother, told PTI at the village near Dadri in Uttar Pradesh, about 60 km from the national capital.

He, however, said the family may decide to move out for 2-4 months, if required.

Gautam Budh Nagar District Magistrate Nagendra Prasad Singh said the family has been provided round-the-clock police protection.

On reports that Akhlaq son Sartaj had moved the family to Delhi, Jamil said, “He (Sartaj) is saying certain things out
of concern but that does not mean he will go beyond my words.”

Sartaj had yesterday said he had moved the family to Delhi on Tuesday night.

The SP chief, while addressing the media in Lucknow, alleged three persons of a “specific party” had plotted the incident.

“The Dadri incident was a pre-planned conspiracy…you will come to know the names. According to the information I
have gathered, three persons related to a specific party are behind the incident,” Yadav said, adding a Samajwadi Party delegation would soon be sent to Bisara after which their names will become clear.

“We will take stern action once the names are clear, whatever sacrifices the government has to make…even if we have to sacrifice our government, we will crush the communal forces,” Yadav said.

Yadav said it was a conspiracy “to oppress the people of a specific community. The SP will not allow this conspiracy to succeed”.

“I want to urge Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has given the slogan of ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas’, and is also an
MP from Uttar Pradesh to think over it seriously,” he said.

Meanwhile, two persons have been arrested for allegedly spreading rumours on the social media to “disturb communal harmony” in the area.

While one person was arrested form Jewar, another was held from Surajpur, District Magistrate N P Singh said.
He said the cyber cell of the local administration is keeping a close watch on those spreading rumours who would be
arrested.

Jamil, irritated over constant media scrutiny, said more than anything else, bringing the culprits to justice was of
parmount importance for the family.

“We are tired of saying the same thing over and over again, but media still runs unverified news. For us getting
justice is the only objective and only administration and court can ensure that,” Jamil said.

He said members of the family, specially Akhlaq’s duaghter and mother were finding it difficult to lead a normal life
after the incident.

“She (Akhlaq’s mother) is not in a condition to speak any more. What can a person say when her son has been beaten to death before her eyes,” he said.

Jamil said they will never leave Bisara permanently where 5 generations of his family have lived and died.

Bisara village, about 60 km from the national capital, remained calm today with the District Magistrate Singh and
Senior Superintendent of Police Kiran S holding a series of peace committee meetings.
