Rs 5036 crore Spent on Welfare Schemes: KCR

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today asserted that Telangana is number one state in the country to spend huge amount on welfare as financial trends are encouraging. KCR said that though he could not completely understand much financial issues and ramifications, they are able to fund the welfare schemes to keep our objective. He said that the government is building new Telangana state on a strong basement for better future though it is delayed initially.

Replying to a short discussion on Welfare of the down-trodden sections, in the State Assembly, he said that Rs 5,036 crore was spent for welfare. With a focus on the welfare of deprived classes, they are planning to spend Rs 8,080 crore for schedule castes community alone, he stated. He also informed the house about sector wise allocation of funds for the welfare including Rs 1,105 crore for Minorities, Rs 100 crore for advocates, Rs 10 crore for Journalists, Rs 2,037 crore for women and child welfare. He also stated that the flagship project of double bedroom houses for poor will be commenced soon.

KCR stated that Rs 4,055 crore will be spent for constructing 65,000 houses for the poor. The TRS Government will spend Rs 33,986 cr for welfare while the previous government spent only Rs 13,572 cr. By the time of next elections for panchayat raj, all tribal hamlets will become village panchayts he said. The government did better in development sector and will do more besides the welfare of the minorities.(NSS)
